Cleopatra is the most famous female pharoah and was the last Ptolomaic ruler of ancient Egypt.
 
By all accounts, she was incredibly intelligent, well educated, multilingual, an unparalleled diplomat and negotiator, and an avid experimenter in herbology who formulated many makeup and beautifying treatments for her own use, including daily milk baths.

What's interesting to me is that historians actually say her features were quie plain.  It seems that her use of dramatic kohl eyeliner, henna, and with her hair and clothing choices, she created a persona of beauty for herself. 
 
I love this because it validates the idea that confidence, intelligence, a deep knowing of one's self, and walking in your power leave a lasting impression that transcend mere physical attributes.
